Peter Hamby, the current head of news at Snapchat, as well as a former correspondent for CNN spoke at Arizona State University's downtown campus on Monday evening. The talk was a part of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication's "Must See Mondays" program, which occurs weekly at the school's First Amendment Forum.
Hamby debuted the latest episode of his Snapchat series, "Good Luck America", during his talk, and also took audience questions.
"Good Luck America" won the Edward R. Murrow Award in 2017 for Excellence in Journalism, and regularly appears on Snapchat's Discover page, which is accessible to all of Snapchat's very sizeable user base.
Hamby also spoke about his experience covering politics for CNN, where he was a political correspondent as well as a campaign embed during the 2008 and 2012 U.S. presidential elections where he covered Mitt Romney, Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Sarah Palin, among others.
