This week, the GreenBiz 17 Forum is taking place in Phoenix, with business leaders from throughout the country involved with environmental advocacy gathering to hear from keynote speakers, network and participate in workshops.
The conference is part of a collaboration with the Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University, as well as a month-long effort focused on environmental issues in Arizona.
This year's conference featured speeches from a variety of green business leaders, and green political advocates, with speakers such as Annie Leonard of Greenpeace, Joel Makower, S. Robson Walton of Walmart, Eric Faurot, Andrew Marlot, Patti Reiter, Sandra Postel, and Mayor of Phoenix Greg Stanton, among others.
There were several hundred attendees at this year's event, who had the opportunity to discuss with each other some of the advancements being made, as well as the prospect of environmentalism under a Republican administration that many of the speakers indicated were hostile towards their views.
