San Diego Comic Con made its triumphant return in 2017, with this year's schedule primarily focusing on television. The hallowed hall of Hall H saw more television related panels this year than any year in recent memory, with panels for shows such as Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Westworld, Teen Wolf, Preacher, Doctor Who, Stranger Things, Big Bang Theory, and Twin Peaks, just to name a few.

Some movie studios chose to return to the annual convention, however, with a panel for Kingsman: The Golden Circle opening the event, and continuing with Warner Bros. on Saturday, who brought back Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford for Ready Player One and Blade Runner 2049, respectively.

Marvel Studios closed out the big Saturday presentation, but was much lighter in its annual unveiling in comparison to past years. Marvel held panels for Black Panther, bringing the likes of Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong'o and Michael B. Jordan, and also Thor: Ragnarok with Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, and several others, appearing. Marvel also revealed an advanced trailer for Avengers: Infinity War.

Perhaps the biggest event of the weekend was the Justice League panel, with stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa taking part. Aquaman also made a splash with its own trailer during the presentation.

But television made its presence known this year, with shows such as Westworld and Stranger Things choosing to debut highly anticipated trailers at SDCC for their upcoming respective seasons, as well as bringing a majority of their show's cast.

Game of Thrones also found itself in a unique position, as the panel usually served as a wrap-up of the previous season, but due to the seventh season's delayed start, the panel occurred during the show's airing for the first time, which didn't allow for much discussion of the current season.

Television also closed out the Sunday Hall H schedule, as it usually does, with Supernatural returning with a bang, bringing the band Kansas to perform "Carry On My Wayward Son" and continuing with Doctor Who closing out the day with a farewell from the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi.
