The Sandra Day O'Connor Institute hosted its 2017 Dinner with Lincoln on Friday night, and this year's keynote speaker was Doris Kearns Goodwin, who previously published a book on Lincoln titled "Team of Rivals".


The event took place at the Arizona Biltmore hotel. Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor was not able to be in attendance this year.


Former U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, one of only 11 people to serve as Senator from Arizona, introduced Kearns Goodwin, and conducted a Q&A following her remarks.


Goodwin frequently makes appearances on television, on shows such as Meet the Press and Charlie Rose, and has won a Pulitzer Prize.
