Hillary Clinton made her first general election stop in Arizona on Wednesday, speaking to several thousand supporters at Arizona State University in Tempe. The event comes on the heels of recent polling which has indicated Arizona may be a tossup state.
Clinton last made an appearance in Arizona the day before the Arizona Democratic primary in March, and this was her only stop during the general election in the state. In contrast, Trump made at least seven stops from between July 2015 and the general election in Arizona, which has been a Republican stronghold for many decades.
Clinton was introduced by several well known Arizona Democrats, including Ann Kirkpatrick, Ruben Gallego, as well as former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Tim Kaine, Clinton's runningmate, will also be in Arizona the following day, speaking at a Spanish campaign event in Phoenix, as well as another stop in Tucson.
If Hillary Clinton were to win Arizona, it would be the first Democratic victory in the state since 1996 when Bill Clinton won, and before that several decades.
