Tim Kaine makes final pitch for Arizona Democrats

U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, the Democratic nominee for vice president, made a stop in Phoenix on Thursday, speaking entirely in Spanish before a small crowd of supporters at the Maryvale Community Center.

This was Kaine's first public campaign rally in the state, and was only a day after his running mate, Hillary Clinton, made her first and only general election campaign visit to the state.

Kaine addressed the crowd in Spanish, which he is fluent in, in the hopes of reaching out to Hispanic supporters, and bringing out enough Hispanic voters to the polls in order to flip Arizona into the Democratic column.

Kaine also made another stop in Tucson, which has tended more Democratic in previous election cycles than the rest of the state.
