Phoenix Comicon, re-branded as Phoenix Comic Fest, returned to downtown Phoenix this past weekend, with several high profile celebrities attending, as well as dozens of comic book creators and authors.
The annual gathering which has boasted as high as 100,000+ attendees in past years features a weekend full of panels, cosplay events, seminars, and an exhibit floor.
Celebrity guests at this year's convention included William Shatner, Ming-Na Wen, Michael Rooker, Dan Fogler, Sean Gunn, Graham McTavish, Steve Blum and Wil Wheaton, among others.
Despite its name change, Phoenix Comic Fest has already re-branded itself for 2019, taking on the name Phoenix Fan Fusion. The original name change was sparked following a lawsuit against Salt Lake Comic Con that was initiated by San Diego Comic Con, alleging copyright infringement.
