Phoenix Fan Fest, previously known as Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest, held its 3rd annual convention at the Phoenix Convention Center over the weekend, bringing together thousands of pop culture fans to downtown to celebrate all that makes up geekdom, including comics, television, film, science fiction, fantasy, books, and many other topics.
The event was held the past 2 years at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale in December, but it was moved to earlier in the year and to downtown Phoenix this year, where the regular Phoenix Comicon is held every May or June.
Guests at this year's convention included the likes of Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things fame, as well as Elizabeth Henstridge and Brett Dalton from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and John Cena.
Many attendees also partook in the event by dressing up as their favorite pop culture characters, ranging from comic book characters to television and film characters.
No word yet on the attendance number for this year's event, but the summer convention set an attendance record back in June with more than 100,000 attendees. Fan Fest is essentially a much smaller version of the regular Phoenix Comicon convention, and serves as a good introduction for first-time convention goers.
