Former U.S. Ambassador to Finland Barbara Barrett was awarded the 2018 Heritage Award by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce at an event held at the Phoenician Resort in Phoenix.


The event is held annually, and past recipients have included Barry Goldwater, John McCain, Sandra Day O'Connor, Alice Cooper and Larry Fitzgerald, among others.


Barrett and her husband, Craig Barrett, have been very active with charitable foundations, in addition to founding the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University.


Barrett delivered an acceptance speech, and then participated in a Q&A with the president of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.
