Poets Sandra Cisneros, Rita Dove and Joy Harjo gathered in downtown Phoenix on Saturday, in an event at the Beus Center for Law at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
The event was a follow-up event to a poetry reading that was held the evening before at the Phoenix Art Museum, which quickly sold out.
All three have been lauded for their work, and spoke about their lives growing up, as well as how they became interested in the field of poetry, and their experiences at college in writing workshops.
The event was part of the ArchiTEXTS program hosted by the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, which regularly hosts events with authors and poets for the general public to attend.
