Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate against John McCain, campaigned alongside EMILY's List Executive Director Jessica O'Connell, as well as Hillary for America's National Women’s Vote Director Mini Timmaraju, at an event hosted by Hillary Clinton's campaign on Friday evening.


The event took place at El Portal, a Mexican restaurant owned by 2014 congressional candidate Mary Rose Wilcox, and was promoted as a Happy Hour event to bring together women supporters of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.


Arizona Democrats have been emboldened by recent poll numbers showing Arizona as much tighter than previous election cycles, but the state is still likely to remain in the Republican column according to polling industry averages.


Kirkpatrick was unopposed in the Democratic primary, and will face incumbent Senator John McCain in the fall, a race many have considered a lock for McCain after winning his primary challenge from the right at the end of August.
