On Saturday, Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, campaigned in Phoenix. He made his first stop in the state at a private fundraiser at the home of former Senator Barry Goldwater, which was attended by current Governor Doug Ducey.
Following this, he made his way to Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the Arizona State Fairgrounds to speak to a crowd of several thousand supporters. Most donned some type of Trump memorabilia, including Trump's signature "Make America Great Again" red hats.
This was the first stop in Arizona since Trump became the presumptive nominee. His last stop was before the Arizona primary at a rally held in Fountain Hills, the home base of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Before Trump was introduced, several campaign surrogates also spoke about their support for Trump. State Senator Carlyle Begay gave the invocation, and he was followed by speeches from State Speaker of the House David Gowan, State Treasurer Jeff DeWit, and former Governor Jan Brewer.
Brewer has been listed as one of the top prospects for Trump's potential Vice Presidential pick. Brewer was a leading advocate for immigration reform during her time in the Governor's office.
