Former Governor Mitt Romney, a candidate himself for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Orrin Hatch in Utah, made an appearance in Gilbert, Arizona, in order to promote the candidacies of Martha McSally and Doug Ducey.
The three appeared on stage at the Falls Event Center in Gilbert, with several hundred supporters in attendance. Ducey is currently experiencing a comfortable margin in most polls, while McSally is facing a much steeper challenge against Democratic nominee Kyrsten Sinema.
Romney has faced scrutiny from Republicans due to his past opposition to President Donald Trump, but is likely to easily win his general election in deep red Utah.
Romney last appeared in Arizona to campaign on behalf of U.S. Senator John McCain, who passed away in August.
