WonderCon 2017 made its triumphant return to Anaheim, after a brief stint in Los Angeles for last year's convention, with one of the many highlights of this year's annual comic book convention being a panel discussion with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, as well as new footage from the film.

WonderCon has been held annually since 1987 as the sister convention to San Diego Comic-Con, serving as a similar but much smaller scale affair to the monstrous SDCC. Its main focus is also film, television, comic books, science fiction and fantasy, and attracts upwards of 60,000 attendees annually.

The main attractions at this year's WonderCon consisted of mostly television series, with shows such as Gotham, Lucifer and Riverdale, as well as new series such as Midnight, Texas and APB making their first appearances at the convention.

On the film side, there were several behind the scenes panels for many of the recent Hollywood hits such as Logan and Rogue One, with Warner Bros. also bringing horror fans a panel focused on Annabelle: Creation, and comic book fans a panel focused on the new Wonder Woman film, which releases later this year.

Wonder Woman also made an appearance at last year's San Diego Comic Con, but due to its June release date, WonderCon was its final opportunity to present before a large audience at a major comic book convention.

In addition to panels, WonderCon has become a hot spot for cosplayers; people who get dressed up in costumes to pay homage to their favorite film, television, comic book and fictional characters. The Anaheim Convention Center's fountain in front of the convention hall is a popular spot for cosplayers to pose for fans and photographers.
