Director and writer Whit Stillman appeared at Changing Hands on Monday evening, as a part of a series of events hosted by the ASU Department of English. The event was a reading and book signing, and also featured a discussion of his book and movie "Love and Friendship".

The book "Love and Friendship" was inspired by the writings of English novelist Jane Austen, and was transformed into a feature film starring Kate Beckinsale, which was released in January 2016 at the Sundance Film Festival.

Stillman is the writer-director of five films, including Metropolitan, Barcelona, The Last Days of Disco, Damsels in Distress, and Love and Friendship. Love and Friendship includes the full text of Jane Austen's Lady Susan.

In addition to appearing at Changing Hands, Stillman also made an appearance on Tuesday evening at a screening of the film, which was followed by a Q&A after the film with Stillman.
