Donald Trump, the Republican Presidential nominee, returned to Phoenix at the end of August, in order to discuss the hot button issue of illegal immigration in the United States. The campaign sought to clarify questions raised about specifics of Trump's policies in regards to immigration.

Prior to his speech in Phoenix that evening, Trump also met with the President of Mexico, in a move that many in the media praised as presidential.

The event in Phoenix also featured a host of other speakers, including Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, Senator Jeff Sessions, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Governor Doug Ducey, as well as the parents of children who had been killed by illegal immigrants.

Speaking from a teleprompter, Trump laid out a multi-point plan for his immigration policy as President, the foremost of which was the construction of a wall between the United States and Mexico, a popular proposal among Trump's loyal supporters.
